The Concept

Gameplay
Each turn, draw one card from the shared deck. Your hand grows to 6 — then you must act. Place a card into one of your four lanes, or use your one precious discard to burn a card face-down forever.
Fill all four lanes with exactly 5 cards each. Build the strongest poker hands you can — but your opponent sees your board too. Adapt, deceive, and fight for dominance across all lanes at once.
Win the most lanes to claim victory. Tied at 2-2? The 5-card reserve hand you've been curating all game becomes your final weapon in sudden death. Have you been planning for this moment?

What Makes It Different
The entire 52-card deck is always in play — distributed across boards, hands, and face-down discards. Expert players track card distribution across all four lanes simultaneously, deducing what's left and what's buried.
Each player gets exactly one face-down discard. When you use it early, you send a message. Hold it too long and you're forced into bad placements. The timing of your burn is itself a strategic tell.

Competitive Rating
PokerChess uses an Elo-based rating system that measures how you win, not just whether you win. Dominance is rewarded. Close calls are noted. Climb the leaderboards your way.
A 4-0 sweep earns significantly more rating than a 3-2 sudden death win. The system rewards players who dominate across all four lanes, not just those who scrape by on the tiebreaker.
Beating a higher-rated player is worth far more than beating someone below your level. The system knows the difference between a hard-earned upset and a routine win against a newcomer.
Over time, your rating converges on your real skill level. Players who consistently close out games efficiently separate from those who rely on tiebreaker variance. Precision is king.
Track your standing across two dimensions — Skill (Elo rating) and Wealth (chip bankroll). Filter by room tier, time frame, or region. Dominate the Backroom or rule the Penthouse — your rank reflects where you compete.
